Fear Tech Stories: Hexes and Curses

*Clatter!*

At the Gorgon's Eye, Kerri and Fiona were relaxing the day away, after what had happened with King Crush's last few schemes they deserved a break, and what could've been a better choice than the town's finest bar?

The two were sat at a table, and unusually it was a little quiet today, which got Kerri a little confused since it was usually packed, "Hey, Lev, you there?" she said, talking to the bartender, a cactus cat girl, as she came over to the two, "Please tell me you know what happened to Miles." she said, sounding a little concerned about something.

This got the girls' interest, "What happened with him?" Fiona asked, "I dunno, it was during the night and I saw him acting rather weird...well weirder than usual, he was like in a trance." Lev said, "Pretty sure hypnosis is normal..." Kerri said, before Lev looked towards her, "Not like this, I checked with the police chief this morning and she said that there's nobody in this town with hypnotic abilities, so something's wrong." she explained.

"Can you at least tell us where he went?" Kerri asked, Lev just shrugged, "I think we'll need to figure that out, and hopefully nothing bad has happened to him yet." Fiona said, flexing her wings a little and eager to get a little action underway.

"I know what you're thinking Fiona, and let's investigate." Kerri said, getting up and leaving, with Fiona following her...

At the swamp, a big woman was doing a sort of magic spell on a voodoo doll, shaped like a skeleton, controlling the movements of its targets, normally she wouldn't be doing this kind of thing, but she had a gun pointed at her neck...

"Keep going, Ameline, I want to lure that hybrid here." King Crush said, who was the one holding the gun against her, Julia and Slick were prepared to attack Kerri very easily, "Why are you three forcing me to do this...?" Ameline asked, an unwilling enemy in this, "Did you already forget what I told you?!" King Crush said to her, setting her mind back on the task at hand.

The same skeleton then came in through the door, under a trance, he didn't even say a thing, "Boss, tha weird skeleton's here." Slick said, "Great, now get him ready for when Kerri comes, and Ameline, we're going to need your size for this." KC then said, the poor priestess sighing, knowing it was wrong to work with these guys, but unable to leave them.

The girls first investigate Miles' home; an apartment in a nearby complex, and with Kerri checking things out, it was pretty easy to get in, they didn't even need to pull a break-in, they just had gone in through the front.

Inside however, the place was surprisingly clean; no clues to even point to who would've done whatever it is to the poor guy, and initially Fiona was going to leave, until she suddenly stops there and then, looking around.

"Is there something here?" Kerri asked her, the dragoness nodded and began looking around, feeling something...unusual.

Fiona then suddenly casted a spell, and Kerri covered her eyes quickly from the light, when it dies down however she takes a look and sees...a purple scent-like trail in the air?...

"Just as I felt; Miles was under a spell, the residue's still here." Fiona said, "That must explain a lot, but the only mages I know are here would be you and Potami," Kerri said, "Unless someone dangerous, or stupid, had gotten hold of a spell." she added on.

"Speedy wouldn't be that dumb, he'd probably even say the spell wrong..." Fiona said, with the two thinking about who, "Let's follow the 'scent' anyway, hopefully it'll lead straight to the skeleton." Kerri said, with the two girls beginning to head off and follow the trail, Kerri couldn't help but have a feeling someone familiar was behind this...

At the trap, the two lieutenants were busy setting up their weapons of trade to ambush the 'careless' half-demoness, with Slick looking towards KC talking to Ameline.

"Why'd tha king go fer tha blob anyway?" he asked Julia, "I don't know, but I'm going to guess her powers." she replied, "Huh, thoughta he woulda gone and got someone witchy, or whatever." he then said.

KC however was talking with Ameline on what the plan was, "Alright, do you get it now?" He said to her, with the big priestess nodding slowly, "Good, now when I give the signal, you set off the hidden bones beneath the ground." he then said, leaving her to be and heading to the other two.

"Are you two all set as well?" he asked them, with the duo nodding, "Great, now we wait..." he said as he hid in the bushes.

As soon as the girls arrive, Fiona takes a look around, "This is where the trail ends," she said, "But I don't see him anywhere...", "He has to be somewhere, and be careful, I have a feeling something is off here..." Kerri said as the two began searching.

When she checks on of the bushes however, she quickly finds Julia, who before she can alert Kerri, grabs her and drags her into the bush, knocking her out so she can't help her.

"Fiona...?" Kerri said and looked to where she was, but she had 'vanished', things started to become clear now, "Ok, come on out!" she yelled, expecting someone hidden and drawing her katana ready to fight.

This is when Julia and Slick come out of the bushes, "Guess our little game is up." she said with a smug look, "'Bout time I finally get to beatin' ya too!" Slick yelled, before he could attack though, King Crush came out as well, normally he would've been armed and try to shoot Kerri on sight, but this time he had a plan.

"I've been going about this wrong, Kerri..." King Crush said, getting out from the same bush behind the two lieutenants, "I didn't need something overly complicated, just something old..." he gave a dark smirk, before Ameline, while regretting this, stepped in front of the group, blocking view from them.

"This is Ameline, my newest lieutenant!" King Crush yelled, "She's been dying to get acquainted with you!", Ameline slams her foot into the ground, sending the lighter Kerri onto the floor, before the big priestess got into combat position, Kerri got back up and prepared to fight as well, katana at the ready.

The battle starts off fairly slowly with Kerri and Ameline circling each other, delicate precision against brute strength, skill against black magic...

Ameline breaks the theoretical ice by first swinging her arm towards Kerri, the sheer size and speed surprisingly manages to knock the half-demoness onto the floor again, it became clear quickly that using brute force was not going to work against her here.

Getting up, Kerri quickly observed her and tried to dodge her attacks, but it didn't work very well as she was then tackled to the ground, with the huge mistress of the undead on top of her, and it was a pretty painful sight, except for KC, who had a big grin on his face.

When Ameline proceeds to get up and try to slam down onto her again, Kerri rolls out of the way, making her fall into the marshy ground instead, taking this opportunity Kerri then jumps onto her back and, using her as a platform, dives straight for KC.

He manages to dodge easily, and Ameline manages to get out of the dirt, culminating in another charge straight towards her, this time however Kerri manages to dodge out of the way, making her ram straight into a tree, her sheer weight making it fall over and buying some time.

Taking the opportunity, Kerri quickly climbs up to where Fiona is suspended and tries to free her in time, Ameline however recovers and starts trying to reach for her...
